How to play Russian Solitaire

Read the aim of Russian Solitaire, then make your first move. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Read the objective before making your first input. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

Try a deliberate move

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

A useful example

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Choose a deliberate next step.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Compare the situation with the worked example. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
